screen-shot-2016-11-30-at-11-47-20

After quite the wait, the Lanterns at Chester Zoo will be returning for the fifth year running. From November 25th- December 23rd, Chester’s biggest tourist attraction will once again light up in spirit of the holiday season.

A wide array of true to life animals will illuminate the zoo, all designed and performed by The Lantern Company, with a few additional new characters and lanterns this year, for the whole family to enjoy.
The Lantern Walk route takes an estimated 90 minutes, but guests are welcome to stay until the zoo closes. In saying this, allocated times will be given upon booking.

Visitors of last year’s event had their say on the event;
“Last year’s event was fab, but this year was amazing, much more to see and partake in along the lantern walk. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year!”
“Seeing the zoo lit up at night was thrilling for our children. The way they followed a trail of lights was magical and the way they went through the enchanted garden to then see the animal lanterns was great.”
The ticket includes entry to a pre-booked session of The Lanterns, where you will be invited to stroll around the zoo after dusk to enjoy all of the night time sounds, our beautiful lantern-lit gardens and the famous larger than life animal lanterns. This year there is a new route, new lanterns and new experiences to enjoy.

There will even be a chance to meet Father Christmas as he prices his sleigh through the zoo during the event.
Tickets are £9-12.50 for children and £10-15 for adults. Infants age 2 & under are free. Tickets are strictly limited and with the event selling out for the last three years we recommend booking early.
