One of the country’s leading early music groups will be performing at Grosvenor Museum this Thursday in celebration of the festive season.
The group known as Piva have been playing renaissance, baroque, classical, folk and jazz music together since 2002 and plan to ease the people of Chester into the Christmas spirit with their Winter Revels concert.
Winter Revels was the name traditionally given to the festivities that took place during the twelve days of Christmas during Tudor times, enjoyed by rich and poor alike.
Councillor Louise Gittins said: “The concert will bring the sounds and festivities of Tudor England to life with a multitude of period instruments played by a remarkable music group.
“This promises to be a wonderful evening’s entertainment of inspirational music making, set within the Grosvenor Museum’s beautiful Lecture Theatre.”
Tickets are £8 and include a glass of wine and are available at www.cheshiremuseum.co.uk
